Plot...An abandoned Los Angeles church holds an ancient secret. When the guardian priest dies a team of scientists investigate a large container of viscous liquid with biblical ties that may just destroy the universe.
Thoughts..Carpenter crafts ter another tense horror flick this time exploring science and theology. The pacing is slow and deliberate but the tension mounts nicely with the subtle music score. There are plenty of familiar faces in the capable cast several who have worked with the director before. Fans of Carpenter should be pleased and those who like subtler horrors may enjoy it too.
