October Challenge...#28: Slime City (1988)

Slime City (1988)

Starring...Robert C. Sabin, Mary Huner, T.J. Merrick. Dennis Embry
Director...Greg Lamberson
Format...DVD
Rating...* * 1/2

Plot...Art student Alex moves into a rundown New York City apartment building. Every tenement has it fair share of crazies but this one has a stranger history than most. A cult of some chemist killed themselves in the basement and now Alex is caught up in the nasty, slimy business.

Thoughts...The first thing I noticed about Slime City was that it didn't seem like an 80's flick. It felt more like early 70's to me. Not a bad thing just odd. Anywho this low budget indie does feel akin to something Frank Henenlotter (Brain Damage, Basket Case series) might do. It's an odd one in all its "Tibetan Yogurt" and general sliminess. Go for it. Just mind the wine and stay out of the basement.
